That Golden Rule.

I’ve said many times that I like to take bits and pieces from various places and mix them together to create an outfit. And almost as many times I’ve ignored that totally and just worn pieces from the one place. This post falls into the second category. And why? Because all of the pieces are bloody brilliant and go so well together that I had to.

The clothes in question are from Nardcotix and while their mens range is fairly small at the moment the texturing work and the quality if the items is very high.

The wool coat is available in a variety of colours and the collar and main body of it are all one piece. And for once I didnt have to adjust any of it. Not one bit, although the attachments are modifiable if you should need to. Like any coat with a sculpted bottom like this, your AO can cause your arms to go through it, but just walk around with your arms in the air and you’ll be fine….

The jeans come on underwear and pants layers and come with various different cuff types as well as low-rise and regular fit versions. Again, theres a number of different colours available.

The shirt comes on all clothing layers (except pants, which would have been nice to enable it to be worn untucked under the jacket) and there are long and rolled sleeve versions in the pack.

Ewan.

For every good sequel theres a bad one (although there tends to be a hell of a lot more bad ones out there.) For every Speed 2 theres an Empire Strikes Back and these new skins from Belleza definitely fit into the ‘great and many, many times better and improved than the original’ category.

Ewan 2 is only currently available at the Vanity Skin Fair although there will be an official release on 14th November when I’m assuming they’ll be available in the main store. Only the tan and sun-kissed skin tones are available at the moment although lighter tones will be released in the future. These new skins use the facial features from the original Ewan range but add the texturing and shading of the newer skin releases.

Now, I used to wear the original Ewan skins so lets just say that I’m rather pleased to have gotten my grubby little mitts on these and wont be taking them off any time soon (or until Belleza release more mens skins, I guess…..)

Total Stranger.

Do you ever gets IM’s from total strangers? I’m sure we all get the odd one from someone trying to hit on us or asking for money because if they dont get that expensive item they want theyre just going to die. But I got one the other day when I was wandering around in this outfit to complement me on what I was wearing. And that just NEVER happens. Not to me anyway.

And I’m sure it was because of these jeans. I picked them up from Bukka and theyre bloody fantastic. Great texturing and the cuffs change when you click on them from a choice of three different shapes so they hang over your shoes just right. They also come with a rather brilliant belt which I’m not wearing because it wouldnt work with the shirt.

The shirt itself is from Shiki and its all on one layer although it can be worn on the various clothing layers. My Windlight settings bleached the colour out of the cardigan a little but normally theres subtle yellow hints in it and a couple of other colours are available in store.

Intention.

I had an intention when I started pulling stuff together for todays post. My intention was to find some items that were free or dirt cheap and make a cohesive look out of them. However, I look like a cross between a manga character and La Roux with a rather teeny head. But I like the pics, so here they are…..

The jacket is a previous group gift from Shiki. All of the previous gifts are available on the 1st floor. Just join the group and pick them up.

The belt is a lucky chair find at Bukka. Theres an iPod attached to it, as well as a bag at the back. The color of the buckles as well as the colour of the iPod can be changed by clicking on it and following the menu.

And you may have heard that theres a sale on selected old hair styles at Truth. Theres only a few mens styles but worth fighting your way in and facing the lag when theyre priced at L$25.

Infinite Browness.

I like wearing brown. Not only in Second Life but in First Life too. But theres a friend of mine who cant stand it and says she wont wear it because its the colour of poo. Which is true. I cant deny the poo its browness. But its also the colour of chocolate and coffee and loads of other great things that I cant think of right now. So I’ll keep wearing brown, thank you very much…..

I was lucky enough to be sent review copies of a new(ish) release at Musashi-Do. Now, whether or not I use something on this blog is totally down to me liking it or not. I dont give a big brown poo if its given to me or if I have to buy it. I have to like it and want to wear it. And I like the InfiniTie shirts and ties a lot. The textures are subtle and soft, the attachments were a doddle to fit and these things are clever. Theres a whole HUD thing going on which changes the colour of the tie but theres a hell of a lot more to it than that. Check out this video to learn more.

The cap I’m wearing is the Casa Del Shai gift from the Make Him Over Hunt. You get four different colours although I did tint this one a little darker for the pictures.

Make Me Blue.

It seems to have not stopped raining for the past couple of days and so I avoided the bad weather and spent some time picking up a few bits and pieces from the current Make Him Over Hunt. Its been running for a while and ends on 15th November, so still pleanty of time to pick up a few gifts and explore some of the known and not so well known stores taking part.

I picked up this sweater vest from Indi Designs. Their gift is a full outfit but I teamed the vest with one of the new shirts from Conners. The shirts are available in a number of colours and I really like the cuffs on this, which are script re-sizeable.

Zanzo is also taking part in the hunt where the gift is a tank and shorts but I bought this skin while I was there. Much more youthful looking than the skins I normally go for but I love it.

Sneer Of Cold Command.

I was lucky enough to be sent a copy of the new release from House Of Rfyre called Garrett. Now, normally I like to take bits and pieces from different places, throw them together and hope for the best, but this is an entire outfit and in this case I just had to wear the whole thing.

I put it on and I immediately thought of Shelley and Byron, Dracula, Frankenstein and the whole Victorian Gothic thing which is kinda appropriate for this time of year. The attachments are script sizable and the collar can be worn without the scarf and with different pants. A red version is also available.

I had to team it with one of the new skins from Aitui. Theres a number of different skin tones and facial types available and can be purchased with or without the eyeliner.

A Quick One.

A bit of a quick post today. No talk. Just a few details about the clothes.

Tie. From Armidi. The tucked version doesnt come with the collar part so I made a Frankenstein version using the collar part of the one that did. No swearing involved. The waistcoat is from there too.
